In 2023, The New Rochelle Tennis Club marks its 127th season of promoting the sport of tennis to members and players of all ages and skill levels. We will hold the sixteenth annual Randy Eisenpress Tennis Academy for juniors (beginning in June); compete in the WCTL and MITL A, B, C, and Senior levels; host our annual wooden-racquet, member-guest, and club-wide tournaments; and continue to celebrate more than a century of tennis in New Rochelle.

Our eight meticulously-maintained Har-Tru courts rank among the best in the New York Metropolitan Area. Members have access to courts from May through November and do not pay court-time fees in excess of membership dues. We will continue to offer private and semi-private lessons, along with cardio tennis and other opportunities to get involved.

Established in 1896, the club is one of the oldest in the United States. It has a longstanding reputation for the high quality of play and social atmosphere. It’s a great place to play, compete, hang out, and watch tennis. We have full pro-shop with on-site racquet repair; and locker room facilities for men (updated in 2019) and women (updated in 2016).

Over the years, the New Rochelle Tennis Club has hosted numerous top tennis players, including Bill Tilden, Ivan Lendl, Wojtek Fibak, and Steve Denton. But we are proudest that our members continue to foster a distinctive vibe that is competitive, fun, eclectic, and social.

Join up! We welcome applications for membership from players of all abilities.

What type of shoes should I wear?

Because our tennis courts are made up of Har-Tru, or green clay court material, we ask that all players where clay-court tennis shoes.  Clay-court tennis shoes have flat soles, as compared to cross trainers or running shoes – so they will not tear up the clay material

Is there a dress code?

Yes. The New Rochelle Tennis Club still abides by the “white attire only” rule, which is a tennis tradition established in the late 1800s. Members are welcome to wear outfits with color accents but the majority of the clothing must be white. We ask that campers also do their best to abide by the all-white attire rule.

Is there a snack bar?

Yes. Inside the clubhouse we have a full snack bar – serving breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day. We also have a wide array of sport drinks, soda and juices for purchase on-site as well

Do you have a pro-shop?

The New Rochelle Tennis Club features a fully stocked pro-shop. We have an extensive inventory of tennis apparel and equipment, all at competitive prices. We do not allow any outside food or beverages to be consumed on the premises. We have a fully stocked snack bar to accommodate anything you may need.
